What do I need to book scooters, mopeds or electric bikes.

    1. What you need to rent a Scooter?
All you need is a valid passport or identity card, a credit card to make the necessary deposit depending on the model chosen, and a valid driver’s license. In Italy it is possible to drive up to 125cc scooters with the normal European driving license for cars. For those who reside outside of the European Community we suggest you provide yourself with the international driving license. For vehicles over 125 cc, a motorcycle license is required.
    2. What is included in the rental price?
The rental price includes a new automatic (no gears) scooter (vespa or other type of your choice), two helmets, a full tank of petrol, a padlock for extra security, basic insurance against third parties, people, things and animals, and taxes.
    3. Do I have to leave a deposit?
Bear in mind that in order to rent bicycles, e-bikes and scooters from us, you will be asked to leave a deposit for the rental. This security deposit is an amount that is “ring-fenced” on your credit/debit card as a guarantee on the loaned vehicle. This sum is pre-authorized to cover the eventuality that you accidentally cause damage to the bicycle or scooter entrusted to you, or that they are stolen. At My Scooter Rent in Rome di Giancarlo Di Felice, you can leave the security deposit in cash or by credit/debit card. At the end of the rental period, My Scooter Rent in Rome di Giancarlo Di Felice will hand you back the security deposit in cash or “unlock” the ring-fenced amount on your credit/debit card. However, you may not have immediate access to the unlocked amount – it all depends on the inter-bank arrangements and on the credit/debit-card issuer. Sometimes, the amount in question is only unlocked a number of days after the end of the rental period. On other occasions, the process can take several weeks. If in doubt, we recommend that you should have a sufficient credit limit on your card just in case it takes some considerable time for the amount to be unlocked. In such circumstances, it is advisable to contact your bank for more information.
The deposit is €100 per bicycle, €300 per e-bike and from € 400 to € 1500 per scooter, depending on the engine size.
    4. Can I get my money back if I decide to cancel my reservation?
It is possible to cancel the reservation up to 4 days before the activity itself but 50% of the reservation will be retained. For cancellations made after 4 days from the activity, the booking deposit will not be refunded.
    5. Are scooters easy to drive?
Yes, our scooters are modern and without gears. Obviously you need experience in riding motorcycles / scooters. We want to ensure only good experiences, so we strongly discourage renting a scooter without having sufficient practice.
    6. What happens if I book a Vespa without being able to drive it?
Myscooterrentinrome.com reserves the right to cancel the agreement if the driver is not in acceptable safety conditions to drive the scooter. In this case you can not get refunded.
    7. What does the insurance cover?
The basic insurance which is included in our prices covers damages to third parties. Additional insurance, see “FORMULA MY SCOOTER” can be ordered at the time of the rent to limit the payment of any damage to the rented vehicles or, in case of theft of the vehicle, to only be charged the amount equivalent to the deposit given.
    8. How can I pay?
You can pay with credit card, ATM card, cash or Paypal.
    9. What other services do you offer?
As part of the booking you can rent GPS Navigator with Bluetooth system with preset paths. You can book the delivery and/or return of the vehicle directly at your hotel or home. You can add a second driver on the rental agreement (see the page “Options and Accessories”.) We also rent out bicycles and Electric Bicycles with pedal assistance.
    10. Do I need to refill the tank?
Yes, before the vehicle is returned you must refill the tank, otherwise it will be charged on your final payment.
    11. Where can I park the vehicle?
We recommend that you park in the spaces marked with white lines for motorbikes or in the car parkings (white or blue lines) which is completely free for scooters. You should never park in the lanes for buses and taxies, in the disabled parking spots (yellow lines) or on sidewalks (see page entitled “Codes of Conduct”).
    12. Can your scooters carry two people?
Yes, of course, all our scooters are approved for on-road use with a driver and a passenger.

You can circulate throughout Rome, respecting of course the Italian traffic laws. It is important to remember that it is forbidden to drive the 50cc scooter on motorways. It is forbidden to drive in the bus lanes. With 125cc scooters you can plan trips outside of the city of Rome. If you get a fine, we will provide your details to the police authorities in order for the fine to be re-directed to you. This procedure has a standard cost of € 35,00 which will be charged from your credit card deposit.
